Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush the roles of the main leads of the movie. Dhanush, has undergone typical training for fluency in Hindi. The movie starts with the teens of Banaras, who turns into sensitive adults. Dhanush who plays the role of “Kundan” is passionate about two things, Banaras and Zoya (Sonam Kapoor). Sonam revealed that to act as a school going girl in Raanjhanaa, she took inspiration from the movie Guddi. Zoya’s character is child like, unpredictable and cute. Her innocence makes her desirable to every man. Abhay Deol will also be seen in the movie as Akram, the man who is the love of Zoya. Confident and secure Akram completes the Love triangle in the movie.

Sonam-Kapoor-RaanjhanaaA R Rahman’s music is the one thing one cannot ignore, Indianness of the movie appealed Rahman, and he says that he has told a story through his songs in Raanjhanaa. The earthy feel of Banaras played the biggest role for the composer A R Rahman. Every song in the movie takes the story forward, like the track “Tum Tak” shows the passing five years through five seasons. As a tribute to late maestro, Ustad Bismillah Khan, A R Rahman has used Shehnaai.

Dhanush in in love with Zoya and Zoya loves Akram. Twists and turns of how these three different characters meet, fell in love and this love triangle meets its destination is a suspense for now. Whose heart breaks, and who gets the love of a lifetime, to untie this complicated but cute love story we all need to wait till 21st June.
