Despite his bad boy image and reckless history with controversies, Salman Khan has maintained his fan following, which has only grown over the years placing him a step ahead of his counterparts in Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Aamir Khan.
While the other 2 Khans and the Khiladi Kumar have the similar reputation when it comes to guaranteeing a blockbuster, Salman Khan holds an edge over them for his persona both onscreen and off-screen.
He is the style Bhai of the Indian film industry, who brought back the dying genre of action masala movies in Bollywood with several hits like Wanted, Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg, and Kick.

Upcoming Salman Khan Films
Almost every filmmaker is keen to cast Salman Khan in their films as he guarantees a blockbuster just being in the film. However, it is not easy as Salman works with only a few close production houses and is often seen working with the likes of his brothers Sohail Khan and Arbaaz Khan, ace film director Kabir Khan, Rajshri Studios, Yashraj, and few others.
While the filmmakers are lining up with new scripts for him, his calendar is already full for the upcoming 3-4 years with films either waiting for production or release.
So, here’s the list of Salman Khan upcoming films:
Tubelight is a historical war drama film directed by Kabir Khan. The film is set in the 1960s and the plot is weaved around the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The film stars Salman Khan in the lead playing an Indian man, who falls in love with a Chinese girl. The female lead will be played by Chinese actress and singer Zhu Zhu, whereas Shatrughan Sinha, Om Puri, Sohail Khan, and Paras Arora will play supporting roles. The film was titled temporarily as Majhdhaar for a while but later changed to Tubelight . The film is scheduled for a release on Eid next year, probably on 26th June 2017.
Tiger Zinda Hai
Tiger Zinda Hai is the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster action thriller Ek Tha Tiger. Produced under the Yash Raj banner, the film will be directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who also directed Salman Khan in 2016 action drama Sultan. Both, Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, are expected to reprise their roles from the previous film. There is no official confirmation on the casting, however, the film is announced and planned for a release during Christmas next year, most probably on 22 December 2017.
Dabangg 3 would be the third installment in the Dabangg film series produced by Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan. While there is no official confirmation about Dabangg 3, Arbaaz Khan mentioned once during a press conference that if Dabangg 2 is a success, there will surely be a Dabangg 3. The cast and crew are yet not decided, but it is almost certain that the audience will see Salman Khan as Chulbul Pandey yet again. Also, Dabangg 3 is deduced to be a prequel rather than a sequel to Dabangg 2.
In the upcoming years, Salman won’t just be the King of the Box Office, but also the King of Sequels as there are also ongoing rumors that a sequel to the 2014 action film Kick. Both, Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala, have confirmed the news about the sequel and there is also news flowing in the industry that Salman will be writing the script of the sequel and stepping into the shoes of his father Salim Khan, a renowned screenwriter in Bollywood. The film is expected to go on the floors by the end of 2016. Also, Salman may be seen in a double role in the film.
No Entry Mein Entry
No Entry Mein Entry will be the sequel to the 2005 hit comedy film No Entry. There is no news about the sequel in the media because of too many films starring Salman Khan being rumored to go on the floors in Bollywood. However, the Wikipedia Page of No Entry confirms that Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan from the first installment will be seen in the sequel No Entry Mein Entry in double roles.
After I am Hariprasad, Sher Khan is the most talked about films over the years. Planned under the direction of Salman’s younger brother Sohail Khan, the film was supposed to be made 3-4 years ago. However, due to date issues, prior commitments, and delayed scripts, Sher Khan got delayed and hasn’t been on the floors till date. If you have been following the comedy shows on TV, you might have noticed stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma teasing Sohail Khan about the film as he was offered a role in Sher Khan. Let’s hope, the film gets started and we see Salman as Sher Khan soon.
I am Hariprasad
Next on the list is I am Hariprasad. The film is supposed to be directed by Prem Soni, who has worked with the star actor in Main Aurr Mrs Khanna previously. However, owing to the tight schedule of Bhaijaan, the film has been getting delayed for a while now. If rumors are to be believed, then Salman Khan will be playing a Godman in the film and the film is expected to be a mix of drama and humor as well as deals with the “business of religion”. This may also be the reason as Salman wouldn’t want to move out of action genre too soon.
