In India, there’s a trend of crediting the superstar or main lead of the movie for its success while the work of the director, who should actually be credited, is often overshadowed in the midst of stardom. However, things are changing in the industry and people are realizing the importance of director in the film, thanks to some great established ace directors like Mani Ratnam, S.S. Rajamouli, and many others while the audience has also started embracing and appraising the work of upcoming directors like Neeraj Pandey. In the year 2015, we saw some awesome movies being made under the direction of both established as well as budding young directors. This year, filmmakers took the much-needed risks to create cinema to satisfy their passion rather than just making money. And with the success of their movies, taking such risks actually paid off while inspiring many directors and filmmakers to produce movies with new story lines and concepts in order to take Indian cinema to a newer leve...

It’s a well-known fact that Indian film industry rarely produced women-centric movies. However, we can’t blame the filmmakers here as women-centric movies were hardly being accepted by the Indian audience till the last couple of years. Lately, there has been a flurry of some beautifully crafted female-centric movies such as Queen, Size Zero, Maya, English Vinglish, Mary Kom, Piku and many more. Indian audience has started accepting such movies which are encouraging the filmmakers to make movies that feature actress in the lead role instead of casting an actress just as a supporting pair for the lead actor. In the year 2015 as well, we saw a huge list of movies that focused on building strong female characters. These movies actually made it easy for us to shortlist the nominations for Best Actress in a Leading Role at fk Awards. Being home to a number of different cultures and arts, India is a country for which it is popularly said that the language changes every 100 km. Such a cultural diversity also reflects on the widely spread and highly popular Indian cinema industry. Although, the Hindi film industry is considered as the face of Indian cinema internationally, there is no doubt that regional cinema is crossing barriers and attracting the audience worldwide. Hence, we at Filmy Keeday felt that, there has to be a universal Awards program honoring Indian cinema as a whole merely based on art without taking the commercial factor or language barrier into account. With this new concept, we are launching FK Awards that will honor the best movies, artists and the production team based on the quality of the art rather than considering whether it was a commercial success at the Box Office or not. FK Awards Layout Like every other Awards Show in India, FK Awards  will also honor the artists and production team...
