Shivaay Review - Not at All A Cracker

Once again, we have a mediocre Bollywood drama served as a gift wrap on the festive occasion. The only difference is that it’s not from SRK. Shivaay is a one-man show! Ajay Devgan plays the prime character and he hardly leaves the screen. He is also the Director of the film. As an Actor, he has done an acceptable job, but, as a Director, he is totally artless. Also a Producer of the film, he (Devgan again) should have hired someone experienced for the job.  In short, Shivaay is lengthy, boring and not-a-good-watch this weekend. [caption id="attachment_9952" align="aligncenter" width="673"] Source : A Still from Shivaay[/caption] As per the Wikipedia definition of Shiva, he is the Creator, Destroyer, and Regenerator of this world. In this film, Shivaay (character’s name played by Devgan) , is first a Creator and then Destroyer. I hope there isn’t any upcoming sequel to showcase the Regenerator side. The story revolves around his mountaineering expe...

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Review - Full of Bollywood Cliches But Entertaining

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a Bollywood romantic drama film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Aishwarya Rai, and Fawad Khan in lead roles. The film is written and directed by Karan Johar. Let's cut the crap and talk about the film. What I felt after watching Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Source: A Scene from Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is full of Bollywood cliches and filmy scenes. The film is about two Filmy Keeday types of people and their friendship. I enjoyed the first half, and it was entirely entertaining, with several funny dialogues and scenes. 2nd Half of the film was more dramatic and sensitive, but you will never feel bored. Ranbir Kapoor is undoubtedly the next superstar in Bollywood; his performance was intense and of immense quality. Anushka Sharma proved again that she is no less than Kangana or Deepika in acting. Aishwarya Rai’s screen time was short, yet it was one of the great things in the film. Her act as a poet was splendid, and SRK’s ...

9+ Interesting Facts about the film Raees and Abdul Latif

There have been a lot of speculations about the upcoming films involving Pakistani actors due to political reasons. One such movie is the upcoming Shah Rukh Khan film Raees, which also has a Pakistani actress Mahira Khan as the female lead. Well, Shah Rukh Khan Films don’t need any sort of publicity as he is one of those superstars in Bollywood, whose movies are well publicized by media. However this time, SRK’s upcoming film Raees has been in the news for wrong reasons because of the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. [caption id="attachment_9936" align="aligncenter" width="617"] Source : Scene from Raees Teaser Trailer[/caption] Despite that, many hardcore SRK fans are eagerly waiting for the film’s release as it will feature Shah Rukh Khan in a different look and for the first time, King Khan is doing a film based on a real-life character. Yes, it is very much true that in his career span of over 20 years, he has never acted in a biograp...

Jack Reacher Never Go Back Review - Only for Die-Hard Cruise Fans

“Never Go Back” - it summarises the sequel, Jack Reacher, part 2! Remember the character from the first film? Yes, the primary one, played by the Hollywood charm, Tom Cruise. It was all about living an off-the-track life, way away from the civilisation. Well, the character in the second film comes to the civilisation. Now, you have to watch the film to be a judge yourself. [caption id="attachment_9907" align="aligncenter" width="700"] Source : Jack Reacher Film[/caption] As a Tom Cruise fan, I’m thinking about liking the film I just watched. It had all sort of believable actions (which I prefer over unbelievable ones), the charms of this “Jack Reacher” character from the book, and two female characters, which both are important for the story. The film starts with the same sequence the trailer does, giving us an impression that there is a lot to stay ready in the coming minutes. The new Reacher is now in the mood to help the military by tipping im...

31st October Review - Here's why you should skip this film!

Shivaji Lotan Patil , the director behind 31st October film, has clearly left a lot of stones unturned which could have given this film, a better start, a better grip, and few additional stars on our rating meter. The director has won 60th National Award for his Marathi film , named Dhag. Clearly, one would give him an applause for filming such a sensitive issue of the North-West part of the country but, as a film reviewer, I’d take a step back. [caption id="attachment_9902" align="aligncenter" width="671"] Source : 31st October Film[/caption] I sensed three weaknesses in the film. First, it was the direction, then second was the story itself, and the third was the acting standards. 31st October doesn't look like a commercial film, rather, it looks like a theater play. There aren’t many scenes in the film, nor the locations. It mostly showcases the Parliamentary area of New Delhi, and the locals of Delhi where the genocidal campaigns against the...

15 Best Hollywood Murder Mystery Movies For WhoDunIt Film Lovers

Watching mystery crime thriller movies is never boring. And, if you are a suspense thriller fan, then you would also love to watch films belonging to its sub-genre whodunit. Well, most of the film fanatics believe that mystery crime thrillers, suspense thrillers, and whodunit movies are all the same genre, but they are not. Although whodunit and mystery crime thriller films fall under the same genre of suspense, both these sub-genres are slightly different from one another. Which movies fall under #Whodunit genre? It’s not rocket science to understand the type of films that would qualify under the whodunnit genre. Basically, the film deals with a series of murders and the whole film is about finding the mystery killer behind all the killings or massacres. In addition to that, sometimes there’s also a deep conspiracy that actually is the reason why the culprit is on a murder spree. While most of the times, the reason is some kind of revenge, there are also movie...

Debut Film of Shahrukh Khan is Ahamaq Not Deewana (Details)

Would you believe if I tell you that Ahamaq (released as Idiot), a SRK starred movie, couldn’t make it to the big screen! SRK who got fame from a negative role played in 1993 released Darr, played a scary negative role in The Idiot. The movie was all set to release back in 1991, but, due to some issues, it ended up screening on Doordarshan channel as a mini-TV series. [caption id="attachment_9841" align="aligncenter" width="747"] Source : Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival Shah Rukh Khan's unreleased film[/caption] Ahamaq movie of Shahrukh Khan was based on a novel named, The Idiot, written by Fyodor Dostoevsky, a known Russian novelist. Inferno Movie Review - World Close to Its End, Again

Every time I watch a movie which takes me on a journey, expected to conclude at World’s end , and then doesn’t, I Feel Bored! The stories based on World’s End were compelling, initially, but, now the idea seems like a routine! Inferno is just another name added to the list! Don’t get me wrong, the movie is a good watch if you like the apocalypse idea. It does well to fit under the Mystery genre and the story has enough substances to support. To me, everything was perfect, except the climax. From the opening scene, I was informed that there is a weapon, named Inferno, all set for a mass destruction. It will cure the problem of human population by killing half of it using some Bio-Weapon. The story took me through ancient museums in touristic cities like Venice, Istanbul, and many secret doors. First to know what exactly is Inferno, and then finding it. [caption id="attachment_9835" align="aligncenter" width="740"] Still from Movie ft. Tom Hanks and F...

13 Less Popular Superhero Films of Hollywood That You Should Watch

Between this ongoing competition between the Marvel Studios and DC Entertainment at the Box Office, there’s a sudden flood of a number of superhero films released year after year. Most of the superhero movies are either based on our favorite icon or they are based on the storylines, most of the comic book fans are familiar with. All in all, a genre that was always seen in parts in the past has evolved into different and successful movie franchises mostly dominated by Marvel and DC . While there’s always a race to supremacy between the two giant production companies today, there have been a series of superhero films made earlier as well as recently that either didn’t achieve the right kind of acceptance as DC and Marvel universe or somehow performed great despite being not so popular or from these two franchises. Today, we have listed down some lesser Known Hollywood Superhero films that surely are worth watching. Best Lesser Known Hollywood Superhero Films ...

Mirzya Review - A Cotton Candy, Yummy and Colourful

A love story from Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra, written by Gulzar and based on the tragic old tale, Mirza Sahiba. The film is just like a Cotton Candy which looks gorgeous, tastes delicious (for a moment), but the owner can’t expect to earn much! I don’t think the movie will make it to the Superhit chart. However, the work done by all three, Gulzar, Mehra, and Pawel Dyllus (Cinematographer) is pleasant to watch. The debut couple on screen, Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher have played their role well. It’s hard to find a mistake if they have done any. Still, the movie lacks a lot of modern punchy things which would have given these two a chance to showcase rest of their talent. I have been a big fan of the storytelling style of Rakeysh Mehra and Mirzya is another candy added to his list. Everything in the film was fine for a photographer or a media creator, but, for a normal person, the movie lacks a lot of things. In modern words, it lacks punchy dialogues, meaningless rap songs, an...
